Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, techNL, is seeking a Project Finance Lead to join their team for an exciting new project! This is a work from home opportunity in Newfoundland and Labrador for a 24-month contract.

Critical to this program’s success is an experienced and knowledgeable Project Finance Lead.

Reporting to the Manager, Finance and Administration the Project Finance Lead will also work closely with the Program Manager; Director, Innovation Programs and other techNL staff to support the program goals and vision. techNL operates in an amazing, fast-paced, cutting-edge sector, and with that comes the opportunity to adapt, learn and grow. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely entry and reporting of data in the company financial systems. Including, but not limited to accounts receivable, subcontract management, accounts payable and funding claim reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project financial management, including related cost controlling and claim reporting
  • Production and maintenance of monthly project tracking, including: cashflow budget, forecasting and variance analysis for the project
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly project related claims processing as well as year-end financial reporting responsibilities
  • Review project claims and process reimbursements for subcontracts
  • Management of government funder applications, claims, and accurate project costing and reports
  • Working directly with contractors’ designates to assemble, evaluate, and submit all information related to expense management
  • Support the project manager with general operational administration duties, including contracts and document management
  • Other duties as required as directed

Qualifications & Experience

  • Accounting designation is an asset but not required – a combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Strong accounting and finance experience, including managing large and complex budgets, with strong attention to detail and follow up
  • Experience managing government-funded projects, including budgeting, cost controlling, claim reporting, and other reporting requirements
  • Experience in streamlining processes and utilizing digitally – enabled solutions that support the accounting function
  • Experience working with and communicating with external stakeholders and contractors
  • Self-starter able to execute with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the provincial/regional technology and innovation sector is an asset but not required
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet critical deadlines

Work Conditions

  • This position offers work-from-home options with the understanding that at times you may be required to attend the office or travel to the project site as business needs require.
