Program Manager

 A unique opportunity to help shape the future of Newfoundland and Labrador has arisen and we want you to be part of it! techNL will soon launch a far-reaching initiative designed to greatly bolster opportunities for our province’s technology workforce, with a focus on equity-deserving groups. Critical to this program’s success is an energetic and experienced Program Manager.

Reporting to the Director, Innovation Programs, the Program Manager will work closely with techNL staff, program staff, and program partner organizations to achieve the program goals and vision. The successful candidate will manage and coordinate efforts with a set of ecosystem program partners, funders and stakeholders to support training and upskilling Newfoundlanders and Labradorians for the tech sector, all through a core lens of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute a large, multi-pronged program
  • Leadership and management of three team resources
  • Administration and reporting to the Director, Innovation Programs
  • Engage partner organizations which include support organizations, businesses, and educational providers
  • In partnership with a finance resource, oversee and manage the program budget
  • In partnership with a marketing resource, oversee and manage a large awareness and recruitment campaign
  • Reporting responsibilities to government funders
  • The Employee may also be required to perform other related services as directed by the Employer’s management

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, or related field or comparative experience
  • 5+ years of related, relevant experience at a managerial level
  • Demonstrated history of managing staff as well as projects with strong attention to detail and follow up
  • Experience in multi-stakeholder initiatives, either in a leadership role or as a significant participant
  • Interest in and knowledge of the province’s technology and innovation ecosystem
  • Experience in and commitment to increasing equity, diversity and inclusion for all equity-deserving groups. Lived experience is both valuable and valid.
  • Capabilities in Microsoft Office, Canva, and other commonly used office tools
  • Knowledge of project management software and tools
  • Excellent communication skills across multiple situations and formats
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • A self-starter who is pro-active, dynamic, and does well with significant program autonomy
  • A passion for helping Newfoundland and Labrador thrive and grow
