Child and Youth Care Worker(s)
(Permanent Full Time Positions) Fly-In/Fly-Out Rotation

Key Assets Newfoundland and Labrador has an exciting opportunity available in Happy Valley Goose Bay. We are looking to recruit Child and Youth Care Workers to work a fly-in fly-out rotation of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off. Travel to Nain may be required as part of this rotation. Compensation for flights and accommodations will be provided.

Duties:

Working in an Indigenous community with a diverse cultural background, the CYCW will provide care, supervision, and support to young people in care with complex needs residing in residential placements. This will include relationship building, planning, and participating in social and recreational events including land-based activities, teaching life skills, providing educational supports, developing, and implementing individualized intervention plans and working with family and significant others. CYCWs will work collaboratively with service providers, other agencies, and professional services to support young persons in their placements.

Requirements:

The successful applicant(s) must be confident, energetic, adaptable, patient, self-aware, and able to safely intervene in crisis situations. The role requires post-secondary education in Child and Youth Care or a related discipline; experience working with young people with emotional/behavioral difficulties; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Shift work, including weekends, is required.

This position requires a clear Certificate of Conduct, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Protection Clearance Check. It is also a requirement that the successful candidate(s) holds a valid Driver’s License and a clear driver’s abstract, Standard First Aid/CPR certification and the candidate(s) must submit valid proof of residency. Applicants must be based in Newfoundland and Labrador.
