Reporting to the President, the Business Unit Manager, Flooring is a strategic thinker, a strong operational manager, and restless competitor, that will flourish in the opportunity to lead the growth and expansion of the Flooring business of Steers Distribution Limited. You will lead a well-established province-wide flooring team that’s enthusiastic about its past successes and excited about growth opportunities that lie ahead. The Business Unit Manager, Flooring will take a hands-on approach to leading the company’s flooring business unit.  You will implement the company’s strategic plans, strengthen our distribution network, and build customer, trade, and supplier relationships. You will be a key architect of new product introduction and market entry plans, develop our product line-up, attract, direct, encourage and retain talented people in sales, customer service and operations.


  • Collaborate with the senior management group in the strategic plan development in order to make significant impact and contribute to the growth of the business.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy to achieve revenue and profitability goals for the flooring division.
  • Stay updated on Industry trends, market dynamics, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for growth and product enhancement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts and customer, trade, and supplier relationships ensuring satisfaction with our products and services.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to optimize cost efficiency and revenue generation.
  • Foster a collaborative and high performing team environment.


  • Post-secondary education in business, sales, or related field.
  • Experience in wholesale and distribution and/or the floor covering industry considered an asset.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results and make informed decisions.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
  • Proficiency and understanding of business and financial objectives.
