About Us

Jump Recruitment was founded in early 2007 as a one person firm, offering higher service and modern methods to the old-fashioned recruiting model to job placement.

Early on, Jump developed a reputation in the business community for having a pro-active and casino room knowledgable approach to finding Atlantic Canadian companies great talent.

The Halifax based office expanded and its further success led to the opening of a second office, with the same high standards, in St. John’s Newfoundland in January 2012.

Today, Jump Recruitment continues on it’s mission to match the best job candidates with the best employers across Atlantic Canada. Our boutique approach and dedication to customer service sets us apart from large recruitment firms. Owner & President

As a lifelong entrepreneur, Scott learned early in his career that people buy from people. Fostering these relationships has always aided in the growth of all companies he has been involved with and has enhanced his personal development. Scott has a genuine interest in people that can’t be overlooked when measuring his success in business and cultivation of a large group of supporters and colleagues. Scott has a strong sense of community as evident by his charitable affiliations and volunteerism through sport and other activities.

Neil Coombs

Senior Consultant

An experienced business leader and trusted HR professional, Neil’s passion is in helping improve the culture of professional firms by driving strategy through effective HR management.  With more than 16 years of progressive HR and business management experience, he has worked in both the private and public sectors in senior leadership positions. Neil prides himself on his ability to create and maintain relationships with employees and leaders, understanding the needs of the organization and the people who work there.

In addition to professional practice, Neil is also active in the HR community, currently serving as President of CPHR NL, the provincial association aimed at supporting the needs of HR professionals in Newfoundland and Labrador. He is also Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of CPHR Canada.  To supplement his experience, Neil has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus in Human Resources Management and Labour Relations from Memorial University of Newfoundland and is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR).

Jada Ruttgaizer 

Senior Human Resources Consultant

Jada Ruttgaizer is a Chartered Professional in HR (CPHR) with nine years of progressive human resources experience – primarily focusing in Oil & Gas and the Construction industry. Her areas of specialization include recruitment and selection, on-boarding, performance management and employee relations. She is passionate about her work and loves helping to create empowered teams that achieve organizational goals.

Jada works with clients onsite or remotely, and strives to provide them with expert and timely support.

Michelle Flynn


Michelle is a passionate and talented Human Resources professional. She has honed her HR skills in the demanding food industry where she earned two national awards for excellence in senior management. Michelle prides herself on building solid relationships with all key stake holders, leading to successful outcomes.

Michelle has a passion for people and recruiting is a natural fit for her abilities. Having managed staff through the full employment cycle herself, Michelle understands the importance of pairing the right candidate with the right employer at the right time.

She is excited to bring her HR knowledge and experience to Jump and looks forward to building positive, successful relationships and delivering HR solution to your business.

Kayla Cutler


Kayla is a skilled and driven professional recruiter who began her career in recruitment after successfully completing her Business Administration Diploma in HR Management in 2014.

Having begun her work career in the health care industry before completing her HR education, Kayla narrowed her sights on the recruitment aspect of HR as it allows her the continued opportunity to help and support others.

Kayla prides herself on providing an outstanding candidate experience while meeting her client’s needs to their 100% satisfaction.

Karen is a skilled professional recruiter with broad career expertise covering the areas of entertainment, manufacturing, and high tech.

Karen began her career in recruitment after successfully completing both her Certificate in HumanResource Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Industrial Organization. Having worked management, accounting, human resources in addition to recruitment, Karen has considerable experience with the many perspectives of the talent acquisition process. She is devoted to her work and aims to provide strong representation to her clients and working hard to nurture the best talent.
