Our client operates a busy hotel in downtown Halifax.  They are looking for a strong Executive Chef who is interested in helping them bring a fresh new direction to their facilities.  This is an opportunity to be a part of an exciting rebranding initiative.

As a leader, you will offer experience executing consistent high quality menu items, hands-on management & training and the ability to thrive under pressure.  The successful candidates must exhibit role model standards and have excellent communication skills.

Other qualifications include:

-    Minimum five years experience in a hotel or high volume dining establishment.
-    High-level training from a recognized cooking school.
-    Must be Red Seal Certified
-    Experience in executing consistent and high quality menu items.
-    Excellent knowledge of food and food trends.
-    Ability to drive systems and standards of kitchen operations by
     role modeling and spot-checking
-    Extremely well organized and excel at multi-tasking.
-    Experience in catering larger functions
-    Top notch food presentation skills

Responsibilities include:

-     Ability to assume all responsibility of the day-to-day operations of the kitchen
-     Be a strong and willing mentor to the kitchen and banquets staff
-     Ensure established food handling and departmental guidelines are followed
-     Manage food and labour costs as well as procedures and planning
-     Efficient at keeping up all par stocks of prep.
